Man Falls from Sorlie Bridge in Downtown Grand Forks: Condition Unknown

GRAND FORKS-EAST GRAND FORKS (trfnews.i234.me) – An incident unfolded on Tuesday night on the Sorlie Bridge in downtown Grand Forks, leaving authorities on high alert. According to Sergeant Star of the Grand Forks Police Department, officers responded to a welfare check call regarding a man who had climbed out onto the bridge’s support beams.

Upon arrival, officers engaged in dialogue with the man, attempting to coax him to safety. However, the individual proved uncooperative and tragically fell from the support beam, landing on the ice below.

Emergency personnel from both Grand Forks and East Grand Forks rushed to the scene, providing immediate medical attention to the injured man. Despite the fall, he did not break through the ice upon impact.

The man was swiftly transported to Altru Hospital by Altru ambulance for urgent medical treatment. As of now, the extent of his injuries remains unknown, leaving many in the community anxious for updates on his condition.
