Thief River Falls Man Charged with Felony Domestic Assault and Interference with 911 Call

Thief River Falls, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – In the early hours of March 16, at 2:48 a.m., authorities responded to a distress call reporting a domestic assault in the 700 block of First St. W. in Thief River Falls. The suspect, Leonard Joseph Graham Jr., aged 31, now faces serious charges in connection with the incident.

Graham stands accused of several offenses, including felony domestic assault by strangulation, gross misdemeanor domestic assault, and gross misdemeanor interference with a 911 call. According to reports, Graham allegedly engaged in a violent altercation with his girlfriend, dragging her down a hallway and choking her during a dispute over the care of their pets. Additionally, he is accused of confiscating the woman’s phone to prevent her from seeking help.

The victim managed to escape to a neighbor’s residence, sustaining visible injuries including redness on her face and abrasions on her knees.

This incident marks Graham’s second encounter with the law regarding interference with a 911 call involving the same victim, as per court records from 2022.

Graham has been taken into custody, awaiting further legal proceedings.
