MINNESOTA-NORTH DAKOTA (trfnews.i234.me) – Tom Berg here with an urgent update on this Red Flag Warning Saturday afternoon, as firefighters battle blazes across the region.
Earlier today, a fire erupted in Crystal, near the Canadian border, engulfing a trailer home deck. Northeast of Warren, near the Luna elevator, firefighters tackled a grass fire. Meanwhile, a rush fire erupted south of Grand Forks, near Reynolds.
Heading east of Fertile, Minnesota, firefighters confronted two separate blazes on a farmstead. While extinguishing a grass fire, they received calls for additional fires nearby, including one at an AR Amish Farmstead south of the location. Dry conditions fueled the flames, aggravated by recent controlled burns in the area.
Further west, near Reynolds, North Dakota, firefighters battled a fire near a home church, which spread into CRP land.
Despite the challenges, firefighters are working tirelessly to contain the fires amid escalating conditions.
