Grand Forks Woman Charged with Felony Theft After Allegedly Taking Car Over Argument

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – In a surprising turn of events, 76-year-old Barbara J Hartley of Grand Forks faces a felony theft of property charge. According to court documents, on April 2nd, a male victim reported an incident involving Hartley.

The victim stated that he had provided Hartley with a ride from Downtown Grand Forks to the area of Reeves Drive to pick up a vehicle. However, an argument ensued between them during the journey. Allegedly, Hartley knocked the victim’s glasses off, prompting him to stop by 10th Avenue to retrieve them.

It was at this point that the situation escalated further. As the victim attempted to open the back door to retrieve his glasses, Hartley allegedly locked the doors and drove off with his car.

This incident led to Hartley being charged with felony theft of property, as per court records.
