In a chilling account, 47-year-old Chad Ramstead from Grand Forks recounts the terrifying moments leading to his survival after a semi crash near Petersburg, North Dakota, west of Grand Forks. The incident occurred on Thursday night around 11:41 PM.
Ramstad, the driver of the semi-truck, shared his experience of reaching for a drink while his puppy, seated beside him, inadvertently caused a distraction by placing its paws on his arm. As he attempted to maneuver the vehicle on a straight stretch of road, he suddenly realized the road was curving. Despite his efforts to navigate the curve, the surge of the liquid load caused the truck to veer off course, leading to a catastrophic rollover.
With his leg pinned, body battered, and phone out of reach, Ramstead’s quick thinking and the assistance of Siri enabled him to call for help, ultimately saving his life.
Despite enduring multiple injuries, including lacerations and trauma, Ramstad has emerged from the hospital, a testament to his resilience in the face of adversity.
