Suspect in Larimore Shooting Appears in Court, Faces Murder Charges

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – Troy Larson, the accused in the tragic Larimore shooting incident, made his initial court appearance on April 2 via Zoom from his hospital bed at Altru in Grand Forks. Larson faces severe charges, including murder, attempted murder, and seven counts of reckless endangerment. The bond has been set at $1 million.

According to newly revealed court documents, the incident unfolded on March 23 when law enforcement responded to a home on West 8th St. in Larimore following a report of a homicide. Jamey Allen Holweger was found deceased at the scene, leading to the identification of Larson as the suspect barricaded inside the residence.

Efforts to apprehend Larson safely by the Grand Forks SWAT team were met with gunfire from Larson toward their vehicle, though no injuries were reported among the SWAT members. After several escalation attempts, Larson emerged from the home wearing a bathrobe and was met with orders from deputies to surrender.

An ensuing struggle resulted in Larson being shot by law enforcement officers. Subsequent investigations revealed the tragic events leading to the shooting, including Larson allegedly firing shots toward Holweger and others present in the home.

As the investigation continues, Larson’s court appearance marks the beginning of legal proceedings surrounding this heartbreaking incident.
