Mahnomen: Crookston Man Faces Driving Charges

Mahnomen County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Crookston man is facing several charges in Mahnomen County District Court after a July traffic stop in Mahnomen.

According to a criminal complaint, Jack Daniel Krueger, 36, of Crookston, is charged in court file 44-CR-26-238.

The charges stem from a traffic stop on July 15, 2024, at about 11:20 p.m.

Court documents say Krueger was driving a tan GMC Sonoma in the City of Mahnomen.

Traffic Stop Reported In Mahnomen

The complaint says a Mahnomen County deputy saw the vehicle traveling on Highway 59.

The vehicle allegedly had no front license plate.

The deputy also recognized the vehicle from a prior stop, according to the complaint.

Court documents say the vehicle then pulled into the Stardust Hotel parking lot.

A traffic stop was conducted after emergency lights were activated.

Krueger was identified as the driver.

Charges Listed In Complaint

Krueger is charged with expired vehicle registration under Minnesota Statute 168.09.

He is also charged with driving after revocation under Minnesota Statute 171.24.

The complaint also lists failure to provide proof of insurance under Minnesota Statute 169.791.

A fourth charge alleges intent to escape tax under Minnesota Statute 168.35.

That count is listed as a gross misdemeanor.

The complaint says the vehicle’s registration sticker showed October 2022.

Court documents also allege Krueger’s driving privileges were revoked.

He also allegedly said the vehicle did not have insurance.

Vehicle Towed After Stop

According to the complaint, the vehicle was towed because it did not have insurance.

The complaint says Krueger had been stopped several months earlier for similar issues.

The court filing states the matter was filed by summons in Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District.

A criminal charge is an accusation.

Krueger is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
