Karlstad Man Charged After Alleged Death Threats
KARLSTAD, Minnesota — (trfnews.i234.me) — A Lake Bronson man faces a felony threats charge in Kittson County.
Addison Kiil Homstad, 30, is charged with threats of violence. The charge follows an alleged incident on June 10, 2026.
The case was filed in Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District. Court records list the case as 35-CR-26-80.
Complaint Describes Phone Threat
According to the complaint, a man identified as T.J.J. was outside the Karlstad Eagles Club.
He received a Snapchat call from Katelyn Hanson’s account shortly before 10 p.m.
The complaint says Homstad was allegedly using Hanson’s phone during the call.
T.J.J. told investigators that Homstad threatened to hunt him down and kill him.
He said the threat was repeated about three times during the short call.
T.J.J. reported feeling alarmed and believed the threat could be carried out.

Hanson told investigators she visited Homstad’s residence that evening to pick up their child.
She said Homstad became upset after she refused to restart their relationship.
According to the complaint, Homstad took her phone and ran down a gravel road.
Hanson said he later took her vehicle while their child remained inside.

The complaint says Hanson recorded part of the incident on video.
Investigators allege Homstad spoke about killing T.J.J. and then killing himself.
Hanson later found three Snapchat calls to T.J.J. from her account.
She said the calls happened while Homstad had possession of her phone.
Homstad denied making the phone call when contacted by investigators on June 11.
Felony Charge Filed
Homstad is charged under Minnesota Statute 609.713.
The charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
It may also bring a fine of up to $10,000.
The complaint contains allegations and does not establish guilt.
Homstad is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
