Grand Forks Man Charged with Attempted Murder: Allegedly Strangled Coworker with Extension Cord

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – On April 22, Alexander Antonio Thompson, 27, engaged in a violent altercation with a coworker at their workplace in Grand Forks. According to witness statements and an affidavit, Thompson allegedly attempted to strangle the coworker during the altercation. He then reportedly used an electrical extension cord to further restrict the victim’s airflow as he walked away. Witnesses recounted seeing the victim lose consciousness as Thompson threatened his life.

Thompson now faces serious charges, including Class A felony attempted murder and two counts of Class C felony aggravated assault, each carrying significant penalties. His initial court appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24, where he will address the allegations against him.
