GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – 27-year-old Alexander Antonio Thompson has appeared in Grand Forks District Court, facing charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault. Thompson’s initial court appearance follows a disturbing incident where he allegedly attempted to strangle a coworker to death using an extension cord.

According to the criminal complaint, Thompson engaged in a physical altercation with the victim at their workplace. During the altercation, Thompson reportedly placed his hands around the victim’s throat, causing difficulty in breathing. Despite being separated by co-workers, Thompson re-engaged with the victim, this time using an electrical extension cord.

Thompson intentionally wrapped the extension cord around the victim’s neck, tightening it significantly and restricting airflow and blood flow. Witnesses observed the victim losing consciousness during the strangulation while Thompson allegedly threatened, “I’m going to kill you.”

It was only after several co-workers intervened that Thompson released the victim from the chokehold. The severity of the charges underscores the gravity of the alleged offense, and Thompson’s case will proceed through the legal system.
