ROCHESTER, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Matthew Richard Adamson, a 45-year-old former deputy from Olmsted County, Rochester, is indicted on multiple federal charges related to child sexual abuse. Indicted on April 11 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, Adamson faces charges including production and attempted production of child sexual abuse materials, coercion, and possession of such materials.

Adamson is accused of producing child pornography involving 12- and 13-year-old girls between 2015 and 2023, as stated in court documents and a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Additionally, he allegedly coerced a minor into engaging in sexual conduct. Adamson pleaded not guilty during his arraignment on April 22 and was conditionally released pending trial.

Apart from federal charges, Adamson is also facing accusations in Olmsted County for attempting to solicit sex from an undercover officer, whom he believed to be a minor under 14 years old. This case is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on August 14.

Adamson’s involvement in inappropriate activities came to light following a Rochester Police Department search warrant, revealing conversations where he offered alcohol in exchange for sexual favors. Olmsted County initiated termination proceedings against Adamson after his initial charges in late October 2023. He served in the sheriff’s office from 2005 to 2023.
