Polk County (trfnews.i234.me) — An East Grand Forks woman now faces two gross misdemeanor DWI charges. Court records name the driver as Jenna Marie Hunt, 41, of East Grand Forks.
The charges stem from a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 2. A Minnesota State Trooper stopped Hunt after a speed check, according to the complaint.
What happened on Highway 2
The complaint says the stop happened on January 19, 2026. It was about 7:23 p.m. The trooper was near milepost 3 on U.S. Highway 2 in Polk County.
The filing says the radar clocked Hunt’s Chrysler at 77 mph. The posted speed limit was 65 mph. Readers can learn more about the route at U.S. Route 2 (U.S. Highway 2).
The complaint lists signs of alcohol use. It says Hunt had bloodshot, watery eyes. It also says the trooper smelled alcohol. The complaint also notes slow movements.

What Hunt told police
Hunt told the trooper she drank before driving, the complaint says. The filing says she had a White Claw about one hour earlier. It also says she took a “shot” about 30 minutes earlier.
The complaint lists the drinking location as Kelly’s Bar in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Grand Forks is across the river from East Grand Forks.
Breath tests and BAC results
The complaint says Hunt failed field sobriety tests. It also reports a preliminary breath test result of .217. Officers then arrested her, the filing says.
The complaint says Hunt was taken to the East Grand Forks Police Department. A DataMaster breath test later read .23 at 8:58 p.m. The filing says the test was within two hours of the stop.
A .23 BAC is nearly three times the legal limit of .08. This is based on standard DWI limits used in Minnesota.
Charges filed in court
Prosecutors charged Hunt with two counts of third-degree DWI. One count alleges an alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more within two hours. One count alleges driving under the influence of alcohol.
The complaint cites Minnesota Statute 169A.20. You can read that law at Minnesota Statute 169A.20 (Revisor of Statutes).
All charges are allegations. Hunt is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
Bail and next steps
Judge Corey A. Harbott set bail at $800 with conditions, according to court records. Those conditions include obeying the law and appearing for future court dates.
- $800 bail with conditions.
- $8,000 non-cash bond with conditions.
- $12,000 bond without conditions.
The release conditions apply to Polk County, the community of the alleged offense. The alleged offense date is January 19, 2026. The case was filed on January 21, 2026.

Most people suck at driving! You are most people!
DON’T DO IT DRUNK!
People like this continue to make the roads unsafe for everyone! Not just the other driver but the people walking, riding bikes and even sitting in their homes.
There should probably be harsher penalties for people drinking and driving. Current punishments don’t seem to stop repeat offending!
