What happened

Police responded to the intersection of 36th Avenue East and Veterans Boulevard.

Officers found the girl had been struck while she was in the crosswalk.

Police said the vehicle was traveling southbound at the time.

Investigators spoke with multiple witnesses at the scene.

Police said the girl entered the intersection on a “Don’t Walk” signal.

Police did not say if the signal was steady or flashing.

The girl was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police have not released her condition.

The driver was not injured, according to police.

Police did not release the driver’s name.

The girl’s name was also not released because she is a juvenile.

Police said no citations have been issued so far.
