WEST FARGO, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) – A West Fargo man has been sentenced following a bomb threat involving a daycare in Kindred, North Dakota.
Cody Michael Weathermon, 37, pleaded guilty Monday, November 2, 2026, in Cass County District Court.
His convictions include felony terrorizing, two misdemeanor stalking charges, and distributing intimate images without consent.
Five-Year Sentence After Daycare Threat
Weathermon received a five-year sentence for felony terrorizing, according to court records reported by Valley News Live.
He must serve three years behind bars, followed by three years of supervised probation.
The court also credited him with 168 days already spent in custody.
For the three misdemeanor convictions, Weathermon received a 360-day jail sentence, with 168 days of credit.
Those sentences will run concurrently with his felony sentence, meaning they will not add extra jail time.
Bomb Threat Targeted Kindred Daycare
The criminal investigation centered on a December 18, 2025, bomb threat involving a daycare in Kindred.
Investigators said the threat was reported to the Red River Regional Dispatch Center.
The daycare was connected to family members of Weathermon’s former girlfriend’s boyfriend.
Authorities investigated the threat and checked multiple schools and daycare facilities throughout rural Cass County.
No suspicious items were found during those searches, according to earlier reports.
The daycare also canceled operations as a precaution following the threat.

Months of Stalking and Harassment
Investigators described a pattern of harassment targeting Weathermon’s former girlfriend and her boyfriend.
The behavior allegedly began during the summer of 2025 and continued for several months.
Court documents described the use of fake identities, multiple phone numbers, and artificial intelligence-generated telephone calls.
Investigators said these methods were used to contact and threaten the victims.
The investigation also included the distribution of intimate images without consent.
Weathermon ultimately pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor stalking charges and one misdemeanor involving those images.
Additional Charges Dismissed in Plea Agreement
Several earlier charges were dismissed under the plea agreement.
Those included false reporting to law enforcement, harassment of emergency workers, terrorizing by false information, and deceptive writings.
The court also ordered Weathermon to complete a mental health evaluation.
He must follow any required treatment recommendations and avoid all contact with the victims.
The case highlights how a reported threat against a daycare led investigators to uncover a wider pattern of harassment.
