Cass Lake Woman Charged in Fentanyl Case

CASS LAKE, Minn. — (trfnews.i234.me) — A Cass Lake woman faces a felony drug charge after an arrest on an outstanding warrant.

Taleigha Marie Drumbeater has been charged with fifth-degree controlled substance possession in Cass County District Court.

The criminal complaint alleges Drumbeater possessed two mixtures containing fentanyl on June 13, 2026.

The case was filed in Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District under court file number 11-CR-26-844.

Arrest Outside Cass Lake Store

According to the complaint, a Leech Lake Tribal Police officer was patrolling Cass Lake that day.

The officer reportedly saw Drumbeater leave a Shell convenience store.

Police knew she had an active Cass County warrant, the complaint states.

The officer approached Drumbeater and arrested her on that warrant.

Drumbeater was carrying a brown purse and a bag from the store, according to court records.

Police searched the purse following the arrest.

The complaint alleges officers found burned foil, small empty bags, and glass smoking devices with residue.

Investigators also reported finding a tan and orange box inside the purse.

The name “Taleigha” was written on the side of the box, according to the complaint.

Inside, police allegedly found a foil packet holding a teal powder.

A paper packet reportedly contained a second white powder.

Both substances tested positive for fentanyl during preliminary testing, the complaint states.

The teal substance weighed 0.17 grams.

The white substance weighed 0.51 grams.

The substances had a combined reported weight of 0.68 grams.

Prosecutors charged Drumbeater under Minnesota Statute 152.025.

The complaint lists the offense as a felony.

A conviction could bring up to five years in prison or a $10,000 fine.

The court could also impose both penalties.

A criminal complaint contains allegations and does not prove guilt.

Drumbeater is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
