Audubon Woman Faces Felony After Home Vandalism

Becker County (trfnews.i234.me) – Samantha Ann Sansburn, 35, of Audubon, faces a felony charge following an alleged vandalism incident.

Prosecutors charged Sansburn with first-degree damage to property in Becker County District Court.

The allegations involve broken windows, damaged security cameras, and spray paint sprayed across a home and detached garage.

Extensive Damage Reported at Becker County Property

According to court records, the incident occurred October 1, 2026, on the 23000 block of 230th Avenue.

Authorities documented a broken window and damaged glass on a storm door and an exterior door.

Investigators also reported damage to three security cameras installed at the property.

Multiple colors of spray paint were found on the siding of the house and detached garage.

The damage led investigators to review surveillance footage captured during the incident.

Surveillance Video Allegedly Identifies Suspect

According to court documents, a surveillance camera captured a vehicle identified as belonging to Sansburn.

The footage allegedly showed Sansburn removing the caps from two cans of spray paint.

Investigators reported seeing a person use what appeared to be a tire iron or crowbar.

The tool was allegedly used to begin damaging a doorbell camera near the entrance.

Authorities used the footage while investigating the damage at the property.

Search Warrant Leads to Additional Evidence

Investigators later obtained a search warrant for Sansburn’s Dodge Durango.

During the search, officers reportedly found three cans of spray paint inside the vehicle.

Two cans allegedly matched colors used during the vandalism.

The spray paint cans had been opened, and their caps were missing, according to court records.

Investigators also recovered a tire iron with glass fragments on it.

The tool appeared consistent with the object shown in the security footage, according to investigators.

A hat recovered from the vehicle also reportedly resembled the one worn by the person captured on video.

Suspect Questioned About Incident

When questioned by law enforcement, Sansburn reportedly declined to discuss the allegations.

According to court records, she also said she did not know where she had been the previous evening.

The statements were included in the investigation supporting the felony charge.

Bail Set and Court Hearing Scheduled

During an October 5 court proceeding, several bail and bond options were established.

Bail or bond without conditions was set at $10,000.

Bond with conditions was set at $5,000, while bail with conditions was set at $500.

Sansburn’s next court appearance is scheduled for October 16, 2026, before District Judge Michelle W. Lawson.

The felony charge falls under Minnesota’s criminal damage to property law.

The allegations have not been proven in court. Sansburn is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
