Audubon Assault Case: Man Faces Felony Charge
AUDUBON, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me) — Shawn Tucker, 24, of Prior Lake, faces a felony domestic assault charge.
The charge was filed in Becker County District Court. It alleges domestic assault by strangulation.
A criminal charge is an allegation. Tucker is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
Woman Called 911
Court records say a woman called 911 on May 14. She said she was pregnant, and Tucker had choked her.
The call came from a home in Audubon. A Becker County deputy responded to the residence.
The complaint alleges Tucker grabbed the woman by her neck. She reported having trouble breathing during the incident.
A teenage boy was present inside the home. Court records say he stepped in and stopped the alleged assault.

Additional Assault Claims
Documents say Tucker later followed the woman into the kitchen. He allegedly pulled her hair after the first struggle ended.
The woman threw a bowl of soup over her shoulder. She told investigators she did so to make Tucker stop.
The deputy reported red marks on her chest and chin. The deputy also noted a bruise on her upper left arm.
The woman described earlier abuse during April. She also showed investigators photos of badly swollen black eyes.
During an interview, Tucker admitted to grabbing her neck and hair, the complaint states. The court filing does not establish guilt.
Bond and Release Conditions
On June 6, an unconditional bond was set at $60,000. A conditional bond was set at $30,000.
The court also set conditional cash bail at $3,000. Those terms barred alcohol, drugs, and contact with the woman.
On June 25, Tucker was released without posting bail. The release came with several court-ordered conditions.
He may not contact the alleged victims. He also may not use alcohol or illegal drugs.
The order allows release to Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge staff. That transfer depends on an available treatment bed.
Minnesota law addresses domestic assault by strangulation under Section 609.2247. The law covers intentional pressure that blocks breathing or blood flow.
