ROSEAU COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me)—A 42-year-old woman, Tracey Jo Brodshaug, is facing serious felony drug and DUI charges after a high-risk traffic stop led to the discovery of over 55 grams of methamphetamine in her vehicle and home.
Incident Details
Date & Location: On January 24, a Minnesota State Trooper received reports of a reckless driver traveling east on State Highway 11. Witnesses stated the driver was in the wrong lane and nearly collided with oncoming traffic.
The trooper quickly located the suspect’s erratic vehicle, activated emergency lights, and pulled over Brodshaug after observing dangerous weaving and swerving.
Signs of Impairment: The officer noted that Brodshaug had watery eyes, appeared nervous, and made fidgety movements, leading to suspicions of drug use.
Passengers: She was traveling with an 18-year-old and a child under 5 years old, escalating the severity of the charges.
Search Reveals Large Methamphetamine Stash
After smelling marijuana in the vehicle, the trooper conducted a search, discovering: 38.12 grams of methamphetamine
8.2 grams of marijuana (without proper packaging)
Multiple micro-baggies, indicating drug sales
Brodshaug initially denied meth use but later admitted she had recently used the drug.
Search Warrant Expands Investigation
Law enforcement obtained a warrant for her Warroad residence, where they discovered: 17.7 additional grams of methamphetamine

Brodshaug now faces five charges, including: Felony – First-degree sale of methamphetamine (minimum 17g in 90 days)
Felony – Methamphetamine crime involving children
Gross Misdemeanor – DUI (Driving under the influence of a controlled substance)
Misdemeanor – Illegal cannabis possession in a motor vehicle
Misdemeanor – Driving after revocation

Potential Sentence: If convicted of the felony drug charge, Brodshaug faces up to 30 years in prison, with state sentencing guidelines recommending 56 to 150 months based on her criminal history.
Bail: Set at $50,000 cash or surety, Brodshaug posted $5,000 on Jan. 31 and was released pending trial.
