ROSEAU COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – David Allen Corneliusen, 64, of Warroad, waived his Monday, June 3, omnibus hearing and pleaded not guilty to the second-degree intentional murder of his wife. Facing up to 40 years in prison if convicted, Corneliusen’s case stems from an incident on Aug. 28, 2023.

At 8:08 p.m. on that day, Corneliusen called 911 to report fatally shooting his wife during a verbal argument. Responding to the call, a Roseau County Sheriff’s Office deputy arrested Corneliusen without incident at his residence.

Inside the home, law enforcement discovered the deceased adult female, identified only by the initials “MC.” Corneliusen confessed to shooting his wife with a pistol.

During the court appearance on June 3, Corneliusen’s attorney, Steven Huglen, announced his client’s decision to go to trial, requesting a set trial date. The trial is anticipated to last five days, scheduled from Nov. 4 through 8, with a pre-trial conference set for Sept. 6.
