Warroad Man Charged After Alleged Death Threats

WARROAD, Minn. — (trfnews.i234.me) — A Warroad man faces two felony charges after an alleged domestic incident in Roseau County.

Tyler John Petersburg, 37, is charged with threats of violence and felony domestic assault.

The charges were filed in Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District Court. The case is filed under court number 68-CR-26-359.

Each charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison. Each also carries a possible $10,000 fine.

Woman Reports Threats During Drive

According to the criminal complaint, the reported incident happened on June 24, 2026.

Allannah Marie Meyers told authorities she gave Petersburg a ride to the Warroad Police Department.

She said Petersburg expected to be taken to the Roseau County Sheriff’s Office instead.

The complaint alleges Petersburg became angry after arriving at the Warroad police station.

Meyers reported that he began yelling and threatened to kill her.

She said the threats continued while they drove north of Warroad.

The complaint states Petersburg struck the vehicle’s dashboard during the argument.

Meyers told investigators that Petersburg threatened to take her to a public boat launch and shoot her.

She said she feared for her safety and wanted charges filed.

Authorities later spoke with Petersburg at the Roseau County detention center.

Petersburg denied making threats, according to the complaint.

A family member who was present said he did not hear any threats.

The complaint states Petersburg was later arrested in the detention center lobby.

He was booked into the Roseau County Jail on the two felony allegations.

The felony domestic assault charge cites two prior domestic violence-related convictions.

One conviction was entered in Roseau County in July 2022.

The second was entered in Lake of the Woods County in May 2025.

Minnesota law allows enhanced charges when qualifying prior convictions exist.

A criminal charge is an allegation. Petersburg is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
