Veterans Advocate for Policy Changes at Annual Veterans Day Event in St. Paul

ST. PAUL, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Today marks the annual Veterans Day on the Hill event at the State Capitol in St. Paul, Minnesota, where veterans from across the state gather to honor their service and advocate for policy changes.

Trent Dils, representing the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) of Minnesota, highlighted the day’s agenda, which commenced with lunch and a presentation at the Cedar Street Armory in St. Paul. Following this, veterans marched to the State Capitol at 1 p.m. for a rally. Dils emphasized that the event provides veterans with a crucial platform to engage with legislators on various policy matters, local issues, and programs affecting their community.

Among the top priorities discussed is the need to update the property tax value exclusion for seriously disabled veterans, aiming to ensure fair treatment and support for those who have sacrificed for their country.

The event saw significant participation, with more than a dozen buses transporting veterans from all corners of Minnesota to the capital, underscoring the unity and collective voice of the veteran community.
