Twin Valley Man Faces Stalking, Assault Charges

TWIN VALLEY (trfnews.i234.me) — A local man faces stalking and domestic assault charges in Norman County District Court.

Patrick Lee Richardson, 72, is charged in court file 54-CR-26-179. The case includes one felony and one gross misdemeanor count.

The charges stem from an alleged domestic incident on June 20, 2026. They also cite reported conduct dating back to June 29, 2023.

Complaint Details Alleged Assault

Deputies responded to a Twin Valley home after receiving a domestic dispute report. The complaint says Richardson spoke with deputies at the scene.

Richardson allegedly admitted to picking up a garbage can containing soiled adult diapers. He allegedly dumped the contents onto his girlfriend.

The complaint says the garbage can struck the woman’s face. She later reported pain in that area.

The woman told deputies she had mobility problems and relied on a wheelchair. She said Richardson moved the wheelchair earlier that day.

Woman Reported Threats

The woman also reported recent threats involving the deed to the home. She alleged Richardson threatened to kill her to remove her from it.

Deputies found the refrigerator positioned across part of the home’s exit path. The complaint says the route was impassable by wheelchair.

An open beer bottle was also found in the kitchen. The complaint says Richardson had consumed alcohol before speaking with deputies.

Charges and Possible Penalties

Richardson faces felony stalking under Minnesota Statute 609.749. A conviction could bring up to ten years in prison.

The felony count also carries a possible $20,000 fine. Prosecutors allege at least two qualifying acts occurred during the reported period.

Richardson also faces gross misdemeanor domestic assault under Minnesota Statute 609.2242. That charge carries up to 364 days in jail.

A conviction could also result in a fine of up to $3,000. The complaint cites a March 2024 domestic assault conviction.

That earlier case involved the same woman, according to the filing. The current charges remain allegations and have not been proven.

Richardson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. Public case information may be available through Minnesota Court Records Online.
