The incident occurred at approximately 12:38 a.m., roughly two miles west of Pine River. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the collision involved a Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling westbound and a Pontiac G6 sedan heading eastbound.

The driver of the F-150, identified as 32-year-old Kyle Daniel Jones of Bayport, Minnesota, suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash. His passenger, 30-year-old Mandy Marie Tellinghusen, also from Bayport, sustained similarly critical injuries. Authorities have confirmed that alcohol was a factor in this portion of the accident.

Tragically, in the Pontiac G6, the driver, 39-year-old Royal William No of Hillman, Minnesota, lost his life in the collision. Furthermore, his passenger, 50-year-old Heather Fay Savelos of Brainerd, Minnesota, also succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. Another passenger, identified as 53-year-old Kelly Lee Kushel of Pine River, suffered life-threatening injuries.

The gravity of the situation was underscored by the presence of another passenger, a 36-year-old male from Brainerd, although no information regarding his condition has been released at this time. It’s been confirmed that no alcohol was involved in the Pontiac G6.
