POLK COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – James Richard Shaugabay, 33, was sentenced on Thursday, November 21st, for selling approximately six grams of methamphetamine to a Polk County informant. He had previously pleaded guilty in October to felony third-degree sale of a controlled substance.
According to court documents, Shaugabay sold methamphetamine to a cooperating individual in East Grand Forks in May. This information was contained within a probable cause statement filed in the case.
As part of his sentence, Shaugabay will serve time at the Minnesota Correctional Facility before being released on supervised probation. With credit for 172 days served and considering the state’s two-thirds rule, he is expected to spend under three years in custody.
