On September 7 at 1:20 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the frontage road near the 1900 block of Highway 59 S.E. Enoch Chevront Evenson, 47, from Thief River Falls, has been charged with felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime for possessing over 0.25 grams of methamphetamine and misdemeanor fourth-degree DWI under the influence of an impaired substance.
During the stop, Evenson allegedly failed field sobriety tests. Despite a preliminary breath test showing a result of 0.00, Evenson admitted to using methamphetamine a few days prior.
Inside Evenson’s vehicle, authorities discovered a black case containing multiple baggies of a white crystalline substance and loaded hypodermic needles. Testing revealed that two of the baggies and one needle contained methamphetamine, with the three baggies weighing a total of 4.17 grams. Additionally, a backpack in the vehicle held a digital scale that also tested positive for meth.
A urine specimen was collected from Evenson and sent to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for further analysis.
