Last weekend, a traffic stop in Thief River Falls resulted in several charges against a local man. Jason Ray Scott, 48, was arrested on Saturday after police pulled over his black SUV along Pennington Avenue and 150th Street. Officers noticed that the vehicle had a 2022 registration that did not match its make and model, leading to further investigation.

Authorities discovered that the registered owner was listed as having a canceled license. Scott now faces charges of Gross Misdemeanor Intent to Escape Tax, Driving After Cancellation, and No Proof of Insurance.

The incident occurred just after 2:30 p.m., and Scott was taken into custody.
