MOORHEAD, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – The body of 14-year-old Jaelyn Nichole Walker was discovered early Tuesday morning, August 20, on the banks of the Red River. Moorhead Police, who were searching for Walker after she was reported missing just after midnight, found her in the area of Sixth Avenue and Elm Street South.
Eighteen-year-old Isaac Arndt, from Fargo, was arrested later that day in connection with her death. He is currently being held in Cass County Jail on a fugitive charge and is awaiting extradition to Minnesota on murder charges. According to police, Walker and Arndt knew each other.
Although the cause of death has yet to be determined, authorities are treating the case as a homicide. Walker’s body was sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
Moorhead Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a Samsung Galaxy phone with an orange case and for any information regarding Arndt’s movements. They believe this was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing danger to the public.
