St. Thomas Motorcycle Crash Injures Two

PEMBINA COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — Two St. Thomas residents suffered serious injuries Saturday in a motorcycle crash on Highway 66.

The crash happened at about 12:50 p.m. on July 18, 2026. It occurred near mile marker 120, west of St. Thomas.

Road conditions were dry, and the weather was clear at the time.

Motorcycle Crossed the Centerline

A group of motorcycles was traveling west on Highway 66. A 2026 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling east on the same highway.

A 2008 Harley-Davidson was riding near the rear of the motorcycle group. Another motorcycle ahead began slowing.

The Harley-Davidson driver braked sharply and swerved. The motorcycle went out of control and crossed the centerline.

It then struck the rear driver’s-side tire and box area of the Chevrolet pickup.

The motorcycle driver and passenger were thrown from the bike. Neither person was wearing a helmet, according to the crash report.

Two Taken for Medical Care

The 36-year-old motorcycle driver suffered serious injuries. The 27-year-old female passenger also suffered serious injuries.

Both injured riders are from St. Thomas. Their names were not released in the initial report.

Emergency crews transported both riders to a hospital in Grafton. The driver was later transferred to Altru Health System in Grand Forks.

The Chevrolet driver was a 27-year-old woman from West Monroe, Louisiana. She was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

Crash Remains Under Investigation

The North Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash. Possible charges involving the motorcycle driver remain under review.

The Pembina County Sheriff’s Office also responded. Cavalier County Ambulance assisted at the scene.

The St. Thomas Quick Response Unit and Fire Department also provided emergency support.

Officials have not released further details about the injured riders’ conditions.
