Warroad (trfnews.i234.me) — In a chaotic and dangerous turn of events Saturday night in Warroad, Minnesota, emergency scanners lit up at approximately 10:18 PM after reports that a 20-year-old male—allegedly wanted for unspecified reasons—fled from authorities and plunged through the ice near the Warroad Casino.
“Attention Warroad ambulance, stage at the Warroad Casino employee parking lot,” dispatch alerted, fearing the young man may have vanished under the freezing waters. Miraculously, it was soon confirmed the suspect had made it off the ice and vanished into the woods.
In a tense pursuit, officers tracked him south down a gravel road near the casino. A surprising twist: police discovered the man had phoned his father, stating he would not surrender if squad cars were nearby. Acting on this lead, officers zeroed in on his location, ultimately taking him into custody. Details on why the man was originally sought remain unknown at this time. Stay tuned for updates.
