Redby Man Charged After 69-Gram Meth Find
CLEARWATER COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — Daniel Keith Schoenborn, 37, of Redby, faces two first-degree drug charges after a June 26 traffic stop.
Both charges are felonies. Each charge carries a maximum sentence of 30 years and a $1 million fine.
Court records identify the case as 15-CR-26-236 in Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District. The complaint also includes an order of detention.
The charges stem from an incident reported on June 26, 2026.
Traffic Stop Near Courthouse
According to the complaint, a Minnesota State Patrol trooper stopped a black pickup on Highway 92.
The stop happened near the Clearwater County Courthouse. Authorities cited loud exhaust, dark taillights, and an object hanging from the mirror.
Schoenborn was driving, while an unnamed woman sat in the front passenger seat.
Troopers learned Schoenborn had an active arrest warrant. He was then placed under arrest.
A certified narcotics dog showed behavior linked to a drug odor, the complaint states. Troopers then searched the pickup.

Suspected Drugs Found
Investigators allegedly found a digital scale, small bags, foil, and a methamphetamine pipe.
They also reported finding foil packets containing suspected fentanyl.
A bag behind the driver’s seat contained a white crystal substance, according to the complaint.
A field test identified the substance as methamphetamine. It weighed about 69 grams.
No final laboratory result was listed in the complaint.
The passenger was arrested during the search. After receiving a Miranda warning, she allegedly spoke with investigators.
She claimed Schoenborn gave her suspected fentanyl and asked her to hide it.
She also admitted to hiding foil and the digital scale behind the glove box, the complaint says.
The passenger’s name was not included in the supplied court filing. No separate charge information for her was provided.
Two First-Degree Charges
Prosecutors charged Schoenborn with first-degree sale and first-degree possession of methamphetamine.
The sale count alleges possession with intent to sell at least 17 grams.
The possession count alleges at least 50 grams.
Minnesota defines first-degree controlled substance crimes under Section 152.021.
Evidence will be sent to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for laboratory testing.
