Red Lake County (trfnews.i234.me) — Deputies handled several calls last week. Reports came from Red Lake Falls Township, Red Lake Falls, and Plummer.
The incidents were listed in a sheriff’s office update dated Jan. 23, 2026. Several cases remain under investigation.
Snowmobile crash near Red Lake Falls
On Saturday evening, Jan. 17, 2026, deputies responded to a snowmobile crash in Red Lake Falls Township. The Red Lake Falls Ambulance also responded.
An adult man suffered a serious leg injury. He was taken to the Sanford Thief River Falls Emergency Center for treatment.
The crash investigation is ongoing. The sheriff’s office has not released more details.
Assault report in Plummer
On Sunday evening, Jan. 18, deputies received a report of an assault at a Plummer home. The report remains under investigation.
No suspect or victim names were listed in the update. No charges were announced.
Domestic call and other activity in Red Lake Falls
On Tuesday morning, Jan. 20, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a Red Lake Falls residence. Deputies spoke with the involved parties.
Authorities determined no crime had occurred. The parties were counseled, and the situation was mediated.
Later that day, deputies assisted with traffic control on Bridge Street. City maintenance workers repaired a light on the Clearwater Bridge.
Deputies also helped with an occupied, stalled vehicle on Highway 32 north of Red Lake Falls. The driver received help,p and the vehicle was towed.
Fraud report and second domestic call
On Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 21, a resident reported being a victim of fraud. Money was taken from a checking account without authorization.
A deputy spoke with the victim and the bank. The sheriff’s office opened an investigation.
On Thursday evening, Jan. 22, deputies responded to another domestic disturbance in Plummer. Deputies spoke with the parties and mediated the incident.
