News Release 03-29-24

On the afternoon of 03/22/24, a Red Lake County deputy responded to a report of a one-vehicle crash at the intersection of CR. #9 and CR. #13, west of Red Lake Falls. A Minnesota State Trooper also responded. Nobody was injured, but the vehicle was significantly damaged and had to be towed from the scene. The Minnesota State Patrol is handling the crash investigation.

On the evening of 03/22/24, a Red Lake County deputy responded to a complaint of an individual causing a disturbance at an apartment complex in Red Lake Falls. The deputy spoke with individual who had been acting unruly, and the situation was mediated.

On the evening of 03/22/24, Angila Jo Thompson (31) of Red Lake Falls was cited for misdemeanor driving after revocation on Hamilton Ave. in Red Lake Falls.

On the evening of 03/23/24, Andrew Kenneth Stoulil (20) of Red Lake Falls was cited for misdemeanor no valid driver’s license on Marshall Ave. NE in Red Lake Falls.

On the afternoon of 03/28/24, the Plummer School reported that a student was acting unruly and possibly having a mental health crisis. They requested a deputy to come to the school to assist their staff. A Red Lake County deputy responded and was able to get the child to calm down. One of the child’s parents also went to the school and the child was released to that parent.

On the evening of 03/28/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a Plummer resident, that an individual was at their apartment, and they were refusing to leave. While Red Lake County deputies were responding, the original caller reported unwanted person had left the residence. Deputies continued to that residence and when they arrived, the door to the apartment was locked, but they could hear that a struggle was going on inside. The deputies forced the door open and were able to separate the two individuals. Justin Michael Schue was arrested. Once he was placed in a squad vehicle, he became unruly. Mr. Schue slammed his head into the barrier partition and cut his head. The Oklee Ambulance and Plummer Fire Department were dispatched to the scene to provide medical aid to Mr. Schue. Once he was medically cleared, he was transported to jail in Crookston. Mr. Schue was booked for misdemeanor domestic assault and misdemeanor trespassing.
