News Release 03-22-24

In the early morning hours of 03/17/24, the Red Lake Tribal Police Department reported they had a runaway juvenile and they believed she was at a residence in Brooks. A Red Lake County deputy located the juvenile at the suspected residence. The child was taken into custody and returned to Red Lake Tribal Police Department officers.

On the afternoon of 03/18/24, the Red Lake Highway Department reported damage to some marker signs on bridges in Equality and Garnes Townships. It appears that vandals caused the damage. This report remains under investigation.

On the afternoon of 03/20/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a dirt bike driving around Oklee and it was noisy and causing a disturbance. The motorcycle was located, and the juvenile operator was warned for several violations and sent home.

On the evening of 03/21/24, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office asked for assistance in locating two juveniles who live in Oklee. A Red Lake County deputy spoke with the juvenile’s mother. They were not in Oklee, but she informed the deputy about their whereabouts at another location in Marshall County. That information was given to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.
