RED LAKE COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — Red Lake County deputies responded to a series of incidents between September 27 and October 2, including an arrest in Oklee and several welfare and disturbance calls across the county. Sheriff Mitch Bernstein released the following summary of activity.
September 27: A Red Lake Falls resident reported that a neighbor was pointing a flashlight at their house and claimed it was an assault. Deputies spoke with those involved and mediated the situation.
September 28 (morning): Deputies responded to a Red Lake Falls residence where an adult woman was experiencing a mental health crisis. She was transported to the Sanford ER in Thief River Falls for evaluation.
September 28 (evening): Deputies and the Oklee Ambulance responded to a disturbance at a residence in Oklee. A physical altercation had occurred, and one person cut themselves with a knife. Noah Patrick Johnson, 24, of Oklee, was arrested and taken to the hospital for minor injuries. After treatment, he was booked into the Crookston jail on felony threats of violence and misdemeanor domestic assault. He appeared in court on September 30 and was released with conditions. A court hearing is scheduled in Red Lake Falls on October 8.

September 29: A Red Lake Falls resident reported harassment by a neighbor. Deputies documented the report and provided advice. Later that day, an individual turned in an item found at People’s Park in Plummer. Anyone who lost property there recently is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office. That afternoon, deputies assisted a motorist on Highway 59 north of Plummer after a child experienced a mental health crisis. The child was taken to Sanford ER in Thief River Falls for evaluation.
September 30: The City of Red Lake Falls reported a possible public nuisance involving a property owner accused of ignoring cleanup orders. The case remains under investigation.
October 1 (morning): The Red Lake County Highway Department reported stolen road signs. The investigation continues. Deputies also responded to a domestic disturbance between a mother and adult daughter in Red Lake Falls. No crimes were committed, and both were counseled.
October 1 (evening): A Red Lake Falls resident requested help after finding their door open upon returning home. Deputies checked the house and confirmed there were no intruders or theft. Later that evening, Social Services requested assistance at a foster home in Red Lake Falls to remove an unruly child. The child was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center in Crookston.
October 2: Deputies cited Hunter Clarence Michael Fitzgerald, 21, of New York Mills, for speeding and expired vehicle registration on Highway 32 south of Red Lake Falls.
