Red Lake County Calls Include DUI, Assault Arrests
Red Lake County (trfnews.i234.me) — Deputies handled several calls from May 22 through May 28, including disturbances, shoplifting, speeding, domestic assault arrests, a DUI arrest, and a theft report.
Disturbance Calls Reported
On May 22, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a disturbance report at a Red Lake Falls apartment building.
A resident was reportedly yelling from a window for a long time. A deputy spoke with the person. The person agreed to stop, and the matter was resolved.
Early May 24, a Red Lake Falls resident reported a loud gathering nearby. A deputy responded and told the group to lower the noise. The group agreed.
On May 25, deputies responded to an Oklee residence. The report involved a verbal dispute between two people who live together. No crime was reported. Deputies counseled the parties.
Shoplifting, Speeding, and Crash Reports
On May 23, Brent’s Food Pride in Red Lake Falls reported a shoplifting incident. The store said someone left without paying for items.
A deputy learned the suspect was a vulnerable adult with special needs. A family member agreed to pay for the items. The matter was resolved.
Also on May 23, Marlys Ann Moose, 70, of Newfolden, was cited for speeding. The stop happened on Highway 59 south of Plummer.
On May 26, a deputy responded to Eagle Square in Red Lake Falls. A vehicle had backed into another parked vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damage was minor.
Two Domestic Assault Arrests
Early May 24, deputies responded to an Oklee residence. Investigators said Hendrick Johan Thiart, 45, of Oklee, assaulted two roommates.
Thiart was arrested and taken to jail in Crookston. He was booked for misdemeanor domestic assault. Court records can be searched through Minnesota Court Records Online.
Thiart appeared in court in Crookston on May 26. He was released from custody. His next hearing is set for June 3 in Red Lake Falls.
Later, on May 24, deputies responded to a disturbance in Gervais Township. Investigators said Hunter Perry James Lundeen, 26, of Red Lake Falls, assaulted his girlfriend.
Lundeen was arrested and booked for misdemeanor domestic assault. He appeared in court on May 26. He was released from custody. His next court date is June 3 in Red Lake Falls.

DUI Arrest West Of Red Lake Falls
On May 26, the sheriff’s office received a report of erratic driving on County Road 11 west of Red Lake Falls.
Witnesses had stopped the suspect vehicle and boxed it in along the road. The driver was identified as Deborah Deanne Robinson, 48, of Crookston.
Investigators said Robinson was under the influence of illegal controlled substances. Minnesota DWI law is listed under Minnesota Statute 169A.20.
Robinson was medically checked by ambulance staff. She was then taken to jail in Crookston. She was booked for misdemeanor DUI.
Robinson appeared in court on May 28 and was released. Her next court appearance is set for June 17 in Red Lake Falls.
Loose Dog, Juvenile Alcohol Report, Theft
On May 24, someone found a loose Australian Shepherd in Plummer. Anyone with ownership information can contact the sheriff’s office.
That evening, deputies stopped a vehicle in Plummer. The driver was a juvenile from Plummer. Deputies said the juvenile had consumed alcohol.
The juvenile was taken home and released to a parent. A report will be sent to the Red Lake County Attorney’s Office.
On May 28, a person in Brooks reported a theft of items. That case remains under investigation.
Authorities have not reported convictions in the listed arrest cases. Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
