Randy Marcotte, 38, of Karlstad, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 6, 2026.
Randy David was born on March 9, 1988, in Delta, CO, the son of Terry and Christine (Elvestad) Marcotte. He was raised in Minot, ND, where he graduated from Minot High School in 2007. Following graduation, Randy attended Northland Community & Technical College in Thief River Falls, MN, where he enjoyed playing football, pool, and darts. It was also there that he met the love of his life, Carissa Wilson.
On September 23, 2017, Randy was united in marriage to Carissa at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Newfolden, MN. They made their home in Newfolden before moving to Karlstad in 2024. Over the years, Randy worked at several places, including Arctic Cat, Rice River Farms, Northwest Asphalt and Maintenance, and Marvin Windows.
Randy attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Epiphany Station with his wife.
He had a deep love for football, especially the Denver Broncos, and his passion for the game began at a young age. Above all, Randy will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul. As Carissa would want others to know, he was a big teddy bear – her protector and her everything. Randy was also a great fur dad.
Grateful to have shared his life are his wife, Carissa; his parents, Terry and Christine Marcotte; his sister, Amber (Chris) Mettler; his uncle, Greg (Linda) Elvestad; his grandmother, Agnes Elvestad; his grandfather, Ovide Marcotte; his father- and mother-in-law, Greg and Jeanie Wilson; his brother-in-law, Garth (Sandra) Wilson; his sister-in-law, Katarina Wilson; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Josh; his uncle, Mark Elvestad; his grandfather, Evan Elvestad; and his grandmother, Verna Marcotte.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 PM on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Newfolden, MN. Please dress in Denver Broncos or any football team attire as Randy loved everything football.
VISITATION: One hour before services.
