Perham Woman Charged in $525 Apartment Damage
Perham (trfnews.i234.me) — Kristy Lynn Cermak faces a gross misdemeanor property damage charge in Otter Tail County.
The case stems from alleged damage at the Perham 180 Apartments in December 2025.
Prosecutors charged Cermak with third-degree criminal damage to property.
The charge was filed in Otter Tail County District Court.
Court records list the alleged damage at $525.52.
The offense carries a maximum sentence of 364 days in jail.
A conviction could also bring a fine of up to $3,000.
Damage Reported At Perham Apartments
The complaint says police received a property damage report on December 27, 2025.
The report involved the Perham 180 Apartments in Perham.
Tonya Montoya told police that Cermak had disconnected television cable wiring at the complex.
Montoya also reported damage to a drain spout on the building’s west side.
She further reported damage involving a refrigeration unit, according to the complaint.
Police attempted to locate Cermak after receiving the report.
The complaint says officers later located her at a hospital.
Police were unable to complete an interview before Cermak was discharged.
Additional Damage Listed
Investigators later received a detailed list from the apartment director.
The list included gutter damage, electrical damage and plumbing problems.
It also included damage to a dresser, television, mirror and outdoor lights.
The complaint lists the total estimated damage at $525.52.
Prosecutors allege Cermak intentionally damaged property without the owner’s consent.
The amount places the allegation within Minnesota’s third-degree property damage law.
