Pennington County (trfnews.i234.me): Thief River Falls Woman Faces Drug Charge

A Thief River Falls woman was arrested earlier this month after police discovered suspected methamphetamine and learned she had an active arrest warrant.

According to the Thief River Falls Police Department, officers located 50-year-old Tricia Carrie-Lavanway Bauer standing outside a garage near the intersection of Greenwood Street East and Kendall Avenue South on October 1.

Bauer was arrested on a warrant related to a 2025 Pennington County third-degree driving-while-impaired case.
During the arrest, police allegedly found a straw and two small micro-bags containing a substance that tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine.

The evidence has been sent to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for further testing.
Bauer was charged with felony third-degree controlled substance crime following the discovery.

Police noted that Bauer was within 300 feet of Florentine Park at the time of her arrest, which may add to the severity of the charge under Minnesota law.

Court records show Bauer remains charged in both her prior DWI case and the new felony drug case.
If convicted, she faces potential prison time and fines under Minnesota’s controlled substance statutes.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
Residents are encouraged to report suspected drug activity to local law enforcement or through the Drug Enforcement Administration’s anonymous tip line.
