PELICAN RAPIDS, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me) — A Fergus Falls man faces six criminal charges following two reported confrontations in Pelican Rapids.

Aldin Saric, 26, is accused of assaulting a man, threatening another person’s family, and damaging a vehicle.

Authorities also allege Saric was driving while impaired when officers stopped him shortly afterward.

An amended criminal complaint was filed Tuesday, October 27, 2026, in Otter Tail County District Court.

First Confrontation Reported at Apartment

According to the complaint, police responded to an apartment in Pelican Rapids around 3:38 p.m. Saturday, October 24.

Officers received a report involving two men fighting.

A man told investigators Saric entered the apartment and demanded money.

The man alleged Saric attempted to punch him before striking the left side of his face.

Saric reportedly left the apartment following the confrontation.

Woman Reports Threats and Damaged Car Window

Approximately 20 minutes later, authorities received another report involving Saric at a different Pelican Rapids location.

A woman sitting in a vehicle told investigators Saric approached her while asking about a family member.

According to the complaint, Saric claimed the family member owed him money.

The woman alleged Saric then moved behind the vehicle and shot out a window.

However, she told investigators she did not actually see a firearm.

The complaint states Saric also threatened to obtain a gun and kill a member of her family.

He reportedly drove away before officers arrived.

The complaint does not indicate whether investigators recovered a firearm.

Saric has not been charged with a firearm offense in the reported case.

Traffic Stop Leads to DWI Allegations

Around 4:18 p.m., an officer in Fergus Falls observed a vehicle matching the description provided earlier.

According to investigators, the vehicle crossed both the center line and roadway edge markings several times.

Officers stopped the vehicle near South Union Avenue and Beach Avenue.

Police approached cautiously because of concerns that a firearm might be inside.

Saric, identified as the driver, exited the vehicle and followed commands.

Officers reported smelling alcohol and observing bloodshot, glossy eyes.

Further testing occurred at the Otter Tail County Detention Facility.

According to the complaint, a preliminary breath test registered 0.135.

A later breath test produced a reading of 0.12.

Both readings were above Minnesota’s legal alcohol concentration limit of 0.08 for most drivers.

Six Criminal Charges Filed Against Saric

Prosecutors filed an amended complaint containing six charges.

  • One felony count of threats of violence.
  • Two misdemeanor counts of fifth-degree assault.
  • One misdemeanor count of fourth-degree property damage.
  • Two misdemeanor counts of fourth-degree driving while impaired.

The original complaint, filed Monday, October 26, did not include the DWI counts.

Under Minnesota Statute 609.713, the felony threats offense carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

A conviction can also result in a fine of up to $10,000.

The DWI allegations fall under Minnesota’s fourth-degree impaired driving law.

Those penalties are possible maximums, not sentences imposed in this case.
