Ogema Teen Charged After 100 MPH Pursuit
OGEMA (trfnews.i234.me) — An Ogema teen faces two charges after a July pursuit in Becker County.
Davon Lee Johnson, 18, is charged with felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle.
He also faces a misdemeanor underage drinking and driving charge.
The charges were filed in Becker County District Court under case number 03-CR-26-1420.
A judge signed an order of detention on July 17, 2026.
Pursuit Reached 100 MPH
The criminal complaint says the incident began on July 16, 2026.
An officer saw a vehicle traveling 74 mph in a 55-mph zone.
The alleged speeding happened north of 340th Street and 250th Avenue.
The officer activated emergency lights and attempted a traffic stop.
Prosecutors allege Johnson did not stop.
The complaint says the vehicle reached speeds of 100 mph.
The pursuit continued east on Highway 34.
Johnson allegedly drove around spike strips placed along the route.
An officer later used a pursuit intervention maneuver to stop the vehicle.
The full pursuit covered about three miles, according to the complaint.
Breath Test Reported 0.07
Johnson was arrested after the vehicle stopped.
Officers reported finding an open alcohol container inside the vehicle.
The complaint also says officers noticed an alcohol odor coming from Johnson.
He later completed a breath test at the jail.
Court records list the reported alcohol concentration as 0.07.
Minnesota law bars drivers under 21 from driving after consuming alcohol.
The underage drinking and driving charge is a misdemeanor.
It carries a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail.
The charge also carries a possible $1,000 fine.
The felony fleeing charge carries a longer possible sentence.
That count carries up to three years and one day in prison.
It also carries a possible $5,000 fine.
Case Remains Pending
The complaint states that probable cause supports both charges.
Johnson remained detained pending further court proceedings.
