Brake Light Stop Reported
According to the complaint, a deputy was traveling south on County Road 4.
The deputy saw a red pickup driving south in front of the squad vehicle.
When the pickup braked, the center brake light did not turn on.
The complaint says the deputy then activated emergency lights.
A traffic stop was made in Mahnomen County.
The driver was identified as Dustin William Jack.

After the stop, authorities checked Jack’s driving status.
The complaint says the status came back canceled.
It also says the cancellation was listed as inimical to public safety.
Prosecutors allege Jack had notice or reason to know of that status.
The complaint says Jack still drove a motor vehicle.
No crash or injury was listed in the complaint.

The charge cites Minnesota Statute 171.24.
The complaint lists the charge as a gross misdemeanor.
The maximum sentence is 364 days in jail.
