Minneapolis (trfnews.i234.me) – A tragic night unfolded in Minneapolis late Tuesday, leaving three people dead and two others critically wounded in what police suspect was a targeted, gang-related shooting.

According to Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara, the violence erupted around 11:55 p.m. when officers responded to multiple ShotSpotter activations on the 1500 block of East 25th Street and nearby areas.

Responding officers quickly arrived on the scene to find one adult male lying on the sidewalk near an alley, suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. Just steps away, inside a nearby vehicle next to the alley, police discovered two men and two women, all with critical gunshot injuries.

Despite immediate lifesaving efforts, the man on the sidewalk and a man and woman inside the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

The two surviving victims—a man and a woman—were rushed to Hennepin Healthcare Hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation suggests the attack was targeted and likely gang-related, authorities said.

Police emphasized that the investigation remains active, and no arrests have yet been made as they work to track down those responsible for this horrific crime.

This triple homicide comes amid a worrying surge in violent crime, with six homicides reported in Minneapolis in just the past two weeks after a brief lull of 62 days without a killing earlier this year.
