Mahnomen Woman Charged With DWI After Casino Stop

Mahnomen County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Bagley woman is facing misdemeanor DWI charges following a traffic stop in Mahnomen County.

According to court documents, Faye Diamond-Grace Auginaush, 32, is charged with fourth-degree driving while impaired.

The charges include driving with an alcohol concentration of .08 or higher and driving while impaired by alcohol.

The case was filed in Mahnomen County District Court.

Traffic Stop Near Shooting Star Casino

The complaint states the incident happened on August 26, 2024, around 4:36 a.m.

Authorities received a report of a possible impaired driver leaving the Shooting Star Casino.

The vehicle was reportedly traveling north on Highway 59 near Mahnomen.

Court documents state the vehicle was seen swerving within its lane.

The vehicle later crossed over the fog line, leading to a traffic stop.

During the stop, authorities identified the driver as Faye Diamond-Grace Auginaush of Bagley.

The complaint states Auginaush appeared slow to respond during the interaction.

Documents say she told authorities she had left the casino after having a few drinks.

The complaint also states she had difficulty locating her driver’s license and insurance information.

Her driving record was checked and showed no prior DWI offenses, according to court documents.

Authorities reported Auginaush agreed to perform field sobriety tests.

The complaint states the tests showed signs consistent with alcohol impairment.

Documents say she had trouble following instructions during multiple tests.

Authorities reported issues with balance, walking steps, and completing instructions.

Auginaush was then arrested on suspicion of DWI.

Court documents state Auginaush was taken to the Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office.

A search warrant was obtained for a blood sample.

The complaint states Auginaush provided a sample that later showed an alcohol concentration of 0.149.

The legal limit for drivers in Minnesota is 0.08.

The charges against Auginaush are allegations, and she is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

The case remains active in Mahnomen County District Court.
