Mahnomen (trfnews.i234.me) — A Mahnomen woman is facing a gross misdemeanor charge after a traffic stop near Shooting Star Casino.

Shelly Renae Antell is charged in Mahnomen County District Court.

A summons was issued in the case, according to court records.

Stop Near Shooting Star Casino

According to the complaint, the incident happened March 15, 2026.

The traffic stop occurred at about 2:14 a.m. in Mahnomen.

Law enforcement reported seeing a vehicle leaving the Shooting Star Casino parking lot.

The complaint says the vehicle failed to come to a complete stop.

The vehicle was then followed by law enforcement.

Emergency lights were activated, and a traffic stop was started.

The vehicle pulled into the Subway parking lot.

Driver Identified

The driver was the only person in the vehicle.

She identified herself as Shelly Renae Antell, according to the complaint.

During the contact, Antell allegedly said she did not have a valid driver’s license.

Law enforcement then conducted a records check.

The complaint says the check showed Antell’s driving privileges were canceled.

The cancellation was listed as inimical to public safety.

Antell was then told she was under arrest.

She was taken into custody without incident, according to court records.

Antell was transported to the Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office.

She was booked and later released.
