GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – The Grand Forks Air Force Base lifted its lockdown at 4:35 pm Wednesday following a report of a single gunshot near the medical clinic. Security personnel initiated lockdown procedures out of caution. No injuries were reported, and after a thorough sweep, no source of the sound was found.
Normal operations resumed just after 1 pm, with security forces swiftly responding to the incident. Despite exhaustive efforts, no suspect was located during the door-to-door sweep.
The leadership at Grand Forks Air Force Base expressed gratitude to local law enforcement, educators, and the school district for their rapid and expert response.
As with all Department of Defense installations, the base continues to monitor threats and implement necessary security measures to safeguard personnel, resources, and facilities.
