Lengby Woman Charged After Roommate Assault Claim

Lengby (trfnews.i234.me) — Celeste Dale Guinn faces a misdemeanor domestic assault charge in Mahnomen County.

The charge follows a September 4, 2026, dispute involving Guinn and her roommate.

Prosecutors allege Guinn intentionally caused or attempted to cause bodily harm to a household member.

Roommate Reports Assault

According to the complaint, authorities were called around 10:05 p.m. to a residence on 300th Avenue.

The caller reported that Guinn was assaulting her and threatening to shoot her dog.

Dispatchers were also told Guinn was throwing the roommate’s belongings outside.

The roommate later sat inside her vehicle while waiting for help.

The complaint says Guinn then began hitting the vehicle.

The roommate eventually left the property and met law enforcement at another location.

The roommate told investigators she had lived with Guinn for about one month.

She said an argument began earlier that day involving her dog.

The roommate alleged Guinn had been drinking throughout the day.

She said Guinn entered her bedroom and threatened to shoot the dog.

Guinn also allegedly put the roommate’s cats outside and ordered her to leave.

The complaint says Guinn then began throwing items around the residence.

The roommate alleged Guinn struck her in the head during the dispute.

She later went to her car but did not drive away.

A relative of Guinn eventually drove the roommate to another location.

Investigators later spoke with Guinn at the residence.

Guinn admitted telling the roommate to remove her belongings, according to the complaint.

However, Guinn denied assaulting the roommate.

She said a mark on the roommate’s head came from the dog.

Guinn was arrested and taken for medical clearance.

The complaint alleges Guinn made additional threatening statements during transportation.

Authorities also reported a preliminary breath test result of .225.

The misdemeanor carries up to 90 days in jail.

It also carries a possible fine of up to $1,000.

The case is filed as 44-CR-26-527 in Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District.
