Lake Park Man Sentenced In Camry Case
Lake Park (trfnews.i234.me) — Cole William Halverson, 22, of Lake Park, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court.
Halverson was sentenced for misdemeanor obstructing the legal process. The case was resolved through a plea agreement.
As part of that agreement, three other charges were dismissed. One of those charges was felony theft.
Case Involved A 1998 Toyota Camry
According to court records, the case stemmed from an incident on Jan. 18.
Records say Halverson took a woman’s 1998 Toyota Camry without permission. He knew he only had permission to use the vehicle if she was with him.
Authorities also said Halverson’s driver’s license was revoked at the time of the incident.
The case later moved through Becker County District Court. Court records show the matter ended with a misdemeanor conviction.

Sentence Includes Time Served
On May 6, District Judge Gretchen Thilmony sentenced Halverson to 90 days in jail.
He received credit for 90 days already served. That means his jail sentence was covered by time already spent in custody.
Halverson was also ordered to pay a $50 fine. Court fees added another $160.
The sentence closes the misdemeanor obstruction case in district court. The dismissed charges will not move forward under the plea agreement.
