Holmesville Township (trfnews.i234.me) — A man and a child were found dead Monday at a home in Holmesville Township. Both had apparent gunshot wounds. Authorities say the case remains under investigation.

Welfare Check Led to Discovery

The Becker County Sheriff’s Office said the call came in at about 12:39 p.m. Monday. A man went to check on his brother after he did not show up for work. When he arrived at the home, he found his brother dead.

Deputies then responded to the residence. Once inside, they also found a child dead. Both deaths appeared to involve gunshot wounds, according to the sheriff’s office.

Investigation Continues

Officials have not released the names of the victims. They said that information is being withheld until family members are notified.

Investigators said the case appears to be isolated. They also said there is no known threat to the public at this time.

State Crime Lab Assisting

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Crime Lab is helping the Becker County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation. The sheriff’s office has not yet said what led up to the deaths.
