GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – In a harrowing incident, 20-year-old Brianna Lynn Thomas from Grand Forks faces severe charges of attempted murder and domestic violence after purportedly attempting to strangle her mother. The altercation unfolded on Sunday night, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.

According to court records, authorities were summoned to a Grand Forks residence at 10:30 p.m. in response to a domestic dispute. Allegedly, Thomas engaged in a heated altercation with her mother, resulting in a physical confrontation.

During the altercation, Thomas reportedly threw a drink at her mother, leading to both individuals having wet clothes. Subsequently, Thomas climbed into the rear seat of the vehicle to retrieve a change of clothes. It was during this moment that the situation escalated dramatically.

The victim recounted feeling a cord, initially mistaking it for a phone charging cord, suddenly tightening around her neck. Despite her desperate attempts to remove the cord, she struggled to breathe until it eventually broke. The victim displayed visible injuries consistent with strangulation, including a thin red mark across her neck.

Upon investigation, authorities discovered a broken shoulder strap from a purse matching the victim’s injuries in the rear seat of the vehicle. It is alleged that Thomas utilized this strap to carry out the heinous act against her mother.

Brianna Thomas now awaits legal proceedings as the community grapples with the shock of this disturbing incident.
