Frazee Man Charged After Park Road Stop
BECKER COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — A Frazee man is facing a gross misdemeanor charge after a traffic stop in Becker County.
Leif John Carlson, 38, of Frazee, has been charged in Becker County District Court. The charge is driving after cancellation as inimical to public safety.
The case was filed in Minnesota’s 7th Judicial District. Court records list the file number as 03-CR-26-763.
Traffic Stop Reported In Becker County
According to the criminal complaint, the incident happened on or about March 26, 2026. The complaint says Carlson was seen near the driver’s side of a vehicle on Park Road.
A Becker County investigator was at a residence for a follow-up case. The investigator reported seeing Carlson near the vehicle. No other person was seen near Carlson or the vehicle, according to the complaint.
The complaint says the investigator later heard a vehicle engine rev. Carlson and the vehicle had left the area, according to the court document.
Dispatch then checked Carlson’s driving status. The complaint says the check showed Carlson’s license status was canceled as inimical to public safety.
Charge Filed In District Court
The investigator caught up with the vehicle and followed it. The complaint says Carlson was seen looking into the driver’s side mirror.
The investigator waited to stop the vehicle until reaching Highway 10. The complaint says the delay was for safety reasons.
After the stop, the investigator approached the vehicle. Carlson was allegedly in the driver’s seat. The complaint says no one else was inside the vehicle.
Carlson was then arrested on suspicion of driving after cancellation.

Possible Penalty
The complaint lists the offense as a gross misdemeanor. The listed maximum sentence is 364 days in jail, a $3,000 fine, or both.
